The Baltimore Ecosystem Study

The Baltimore Ecosystem Study aims to understand a city as an ecosystem.

It measures the fluxes of energy and matter in this ecosystem and how they change in the long term, and how the spatial structure of ecological, physical, and socio-economic factors in the city affect ecosystem function, and how knowledge of such things by the residents of the city be used to improve their environment.
